I was innocently browsing Makani's livejournal in search of new Lucissa pics to love upon when I accidentally came across spoilers for the sixth season and last episode of LOST. I was all 'god DAMMIT' about it because, as of two days ago, I was only part-way through the fifth season and had managed to successfully avoid any and all spoilers for YEARS. It actually wasn't so bad. I only found out about two deaths. Never-the-less, I did the natural thing and properly spoiled it for myself by reading wikipedia. Then I decided, fuck it, better finish watching. So, for the past two nights I have stayed up until 5am, literally gnawing on tissues in anxiety, watching the end of LOST.

For any interested parties, I am posting my casting (essentially preferred played-bys) for Howl's Moving Castle! I did this purely out of geekery, but perhaps someone who is familiar with the book will come across this and enjoy it. I will eventually post reasonings for all the castings just for fun (it will mostly involve me bemoaning my inability to find perfect PBs), so stay tuned!

So I decided to take a little jaunt down memory lane and read some of the old threads on ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) bumpshunted. I'm in my bedroom alone LITERALLY CACKLING ALOUD like a madwoman (except, you know, at the serious bits - death and what have you). I'm talking crumbs out the mouth. Occasionally crumbs out the nose. Crumbs EVERYWHERE. We were (are? were?) hilarious motherfuckers. That stuff was comedic gold. And obviously very intelligent and deep at times but CRUMBS, I tell you. Also, Emma Stone as Lily, meow.
Anyway, the original reason I slunk back here was because I'm kind of into a new fandom as of recently. It's... Howl's Moving Castle. Yes, there is a Studio Ghibli film based on it, which I'm not altogether ashamed to admit that I really love, but then I found out there was a book before there was a movie. Isn't there always? And I ordered this book. And, mysteriously, two days after I ordered this book, Diana Wynne Jones, who wrote it, died. I like to think she held out until I got my hands on a copy of her work. In fact, I am convinced this was actually the case. Anyway, the book is the awesomest thing I've read in recent memory, and I'm totally and irrevocably obsessed with all the characters. There is a sassy red-haired heroine who is turned into a sassy 90 year-old heroine. There is a talking fire. There is a gorgeous, vain wizard who spends upwards of two hours in the bathroom every morning doing his hair (Sirius? Is that you?). This wizard is Welsh. There are some hot, evil ladies. There are literary references. It is the best thing ever. I geeked out to the extent that I went looking for fanfic in the utter cesspool of despair that is fanfiction.net. (I know. I know!) Fortunately, countless hours spent slogging through writing that made me want to shrivel up and die eventually bore fruit. Then I decided to do a casting. I'll be honest, it was an excuse to drool over icon journals in search of suitable PBs. Obviously considerable time was wasted making graphics. Actually, I will probably post the results of these dorky pursuits here. The point is, I haven't been so utterly ass over tits for a book since I was seven years old and met someone named Harry. I think you may know him. I highly, highly recommend HMC if you have a little vacancy in your heart that needs fillin'.
Regrettably there don't seem to be any RP outlets for this. ...Yet.

So, I reread HP&tDH and watched the film all in the span of 2 days and I am feeling pretty weepy and emotional about it and I wish Dumbledore and Sirius and everyone hadn't died and I wish I still roleplayed. There, I said it. Also, hi, I love you all. Also also, I laugh every time I see this fucking peacock on my journal. Who are you, Lucius Malfoy.

Hi, guys. I miss you a lot. This whole forced hiatus thing is not fun at all. I need internet time or I will truly go crazy. This is the first pocket I've time I had to myself since I got here, and I am not a fan. Things are going pretty well and I'm liking my school, but orientation week is an absolute shit show. I have what feels like thousands of meetings to go to, all of which are at the same time, so I've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off since Sunday. I'm supposed to be washing my hair right now, which involves fighting for the disabled shower which is far roomier and nicer than the others, and then meeting up with my friends, but fuck that.
Anyway, the point of this entry was to check in and say hi and vow that I will catch up with everything that Sirius and Lucius are meant to be involved in. Also, Lucius's PB is being switched to Paul Bettany because, alas, Boyd isn't working out for me.

I am embarking on the epic and comic slash tragicomic College Voyage '09 in which, against all sense and reason, my dad and I drive from Reston, Virginia to Chicago, Illinois in a precariously overstuffed Honda Odyssey. Our current destination is the lovely and cosmopolitain South Bend, Indiana. Basically, this is me saying I might be a little bit scarce, at least during driving time when wireless is not available to me. On the other hand, I should be readily available this evening because what the fuck else am I going to do in Indiana. (I apologize if anyone is either from Indiana or holds the Hoosier state close to her heart. Sort of.)

I am watching Stardust. I fucking love this movie. Also, I didn't know Ben Barnes was in it, but I do now. I'm apparently on a fantasy kick to amuse myself until I go to school. I watched the immensely less satisfying Ella Enchanted last night and found it so below par that I stayed up reading the book, which was, as books always are, much better than the movie.

All the shitty people I know in real life have moved away to various and sundry states, leaving me blissfully alone. So I'm back for good. What needs to happen? those of you in BS may ask. Let me tell you what needs to happen.
Lucius development.
I've gotten a good start by replying, WEEK LATE, to my thread with Royden (BAD LAYNA! BAD!!), but this is not enough. Lucius has to thread with ALL OF YOU. At some point this week, for example, Lucius will be stopping into Ollivander's to replenish his supply of wand polisher. We cannot let this opportunity go to waste. Who will be there to make the necessary comparisons?
Also, I need to do a thread in which Lucius is not made entirely ridiculous, so evil pureblood bonding is also a go.
